Bible Study: For Freedom Christ has Set Us Free!
January 4, 6:40 pm - February 15 2023 | Bethel Lutheran Church (Room 115)
Wednesday Evening Adult Bible Study – Paul’s letter to the Galatians
Following the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus and the Pentecost outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the first followers of Jesus, many people, both Jews and Gentiles (non-Jews) were coming to faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Paul emphasizes that we are made right in God’s sight not by works of the law, but by faith alone. So, what does this mean for the newborn Church? Do non-Jewish followers of Jesus need to observe Jewish laws in order to be Christians? We will explore how questions like this not only impacted the early church but also how they relate to issues facing the church in our time and place.
Pastor Byron will be leading a six-session series on the book of Galatians on Wednesday nights, January 4, 11, and 25, February 1, 8, and 15 from 6:40 to 7:40 p.m. in Room 115. Please note, we will NOT meet on Wednesday, January 18.
Welcome to the study of this short, but very important and timely book of the Bible.
